Library 2.0 and the future of Libraries

Activity 6: Library 2.0 and the future of Libraries

What does this mean to me, you may well ask!

With things in the big wide world of communications changing daily, us as a service provider needs to be able to keep up with the ever changing demands of our patrons and the fact what was new and shiny yesterday, is now old and out of date. For us as a supplier of information, we need to be able to deliver this to our patrons in the most appropriate and user friendly forms available. Our patrons need to be able to interact with this information and our services and be able to provide feedback, so we can tweak any of the little snags along the information superhighway. It's human nature, that if we find something comfortable and easy to use, we will use it more often. If we visit a place which is warm and friendly and full of helpful information and advise, we will go back there. And if we are able to interact with the technology, voice our concerns or our views, participate in group activities and the like, we will feel more at ease and be more likely to help in working towards the overall improvement wider community.
Hey but that's just my 2 cents worth! You make up your own mind.
