Chocogram

Yeah I know we just had Easter and there is still so much Chocolate in my kitchen. The Bunnies are still sitting up on the shelf, sure that they are multiplying all by themselves.

Need some more chocolate, then have a look at this:

So now we come to the end of the road!

Finally done, finished the Webolution, and yes I have had heaps of fun during this learning journey.
Must say I am glad I have taken the time to work through all the activities, even the ones that were a little harder than first glance. But they do say that you only get back what you put in. Do always like a good challenge especially when it comes to anything computer orientated.
Guess if I had the time, I would have played around more with some of the sites and activities, cause that's always fun. But hey I had to fight the boys at home for the computer, as there just wasn't time to do it at work, and as we know, the rosters wait for no one.
Going to have a bit of playtime with some of the applications from now and maybe hunt around to see what else is out there in the big wide Webolution!
Thanks to all who worked tirelessly to make this project such a big sucess.

Activity 9

Podcasts, Video & Downloadable audio

Well it looks like I have already done most of this activity early on in my blogger experience. In my first couple of post I posted links to certain Monty Python clips which are on YouTube. Have been playing around with YouTube for years. Always great fun. Love this site, what more can I say.

Well here's one of my favourites anyway!

Had already subscribed to Hamish & Andy's podcast through Bloglines, so now I just added 3 more. One for fun, one Library related and one Genealogy related. Check out my blog roll on my Blogger page: Ramblings From The Locker ~~~~ for more details...

Time for sleep.

Activity 8 ~~~~part 2

So I had a look at Web 2.0 Awards nominees and went straight to the short list.
Found some interesting stuff, some we have already covered, some I have already looked at and just felt like doing something for fun. So went to this one. Woo Hoo.
http://www.cocktailbuilder.com/
This is just way too much fun, you can do a search of what are the most popular cocktail or look at a few suggestions. The bit I liked the best, is that you can type in the ingredients that you have at home in your bar. It will generate a list of possible cocktails you can make and tell you if you need other ingredients to make a particular one. If you have a favourite cocktail that you can't find on this site, you can type it out and upload it. It does also have a couple of links to other useful sites, but I think if you started doing test cocktails, then you may not just get to these as your eyesight maybe a tad blurry by then or you have just can't stagger back to the computer after the last round of drinks.

Can I see this used in a Library context? Hmm hell yeah.. when's the next cocktail party?

Have fun... I'm going to see what I have in my bar cupboard.

Google Docs

Well had a little play with this. Very easy to use. You can create documents similar to word, power point presentations, excel spreadsheets and an on-line form. Easy to add pictures, but did try and upload a power point presentation that I already had on file and the connection kept failing. Now that could have been because the file was too large or it may have just been the Internet going nuts.
Can see the benefits of this if you need to save a document that you had been working on and you didn't bring your memory stick with you to the library (oh now when does that ever happen you say!). Well or it could be when your memory stick just does not want to communicate with our library computers (you say again, now when does that ever happen!). Anyway, seems easy to navigate.. all good.
